Janya is an undergraduate student at Barnard College, pursuing a major in Neuroscience and a minor in Science and Public Policy. She was drawn to the FAB Lab because of its emphasis on the intersection of neuroscience and public policy. In the lab, she is able to pursue her passion for social justice and neuroscience-informed policy. Janya is interested in exploring the development of adolescents and young adults to provide support for the implementation of alternative policies and justice practices for young offenders. She is also interested in how social structures impact the development of young adults and their likelihood of committing crime. Outside of the lab, Janya loves to sing and perform with her a cappella groups!
